The Golden Mean Project is an eclectic experiment of multi-instrument EDM music composed in the seven Greek modes.

The Golden Mean refers to the Fibonacci spiral, which is an infinite mathematical equation, in which each number equals the sum of the previous two numbers (i.e. 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, and so on), with origins in ancient India. Scientists have discovered a relationship between the Golden Mean and the Golden Spiral, a formula that is found everywhere from growing plants to spiral galaxies. It also refers to the ancient Greek maxim Meden Agan, which means “Nothing To Excess” in modern English.

Sarah Marie Nicolosi is a fiscal year 2023 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
